"In The Wings"
Behind the Scenes at the New York City Ballet
by Kyle Froman
Kyle Froman offers an engaging and private backstage view of 'a day in the life' of a member of the New York City Ballet's corp de ballet, as it really is - the good, the not so good, and the majestically beautiful.
With a photo-album and diary-like format, he takes the reader through the morning-to-night stages of warming up, class, physical therapy, rehearsals, preparation, and, of course, the show.

A talented writer and gifted photographer, Mr. Froman's vivid descriptions and photos submerge the reader into the atmosphere.
He successfully communicates the intimate perspective of an experienced dancer,
confiding "I can hear the sound of cracking hips and knees. It's just the beginning of another day of rehearsals with the show looming at eight o'clock."
and "I just wasn't expecting to feel so old this quickly".
A ballet dancer since he was eleven years old, and an 11-year veteran dancer for the New York City Ballet,
Kyle Froman was awarded the first Rudolph Nureyev Scholarship at the School of American Ballet after dancing with the Fort Worth Ballet.
He has studied under the tutelage of Jerome Robbins, Peter Martins, Suzanne Farrell, Paul Mejia, and Stanley Williams.
